The sale of homes soared 73.5% last June in relation to the same month of 2020, to add 48,201 operations, as reported this Friday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE) .

With the year-on-year advance in June, the sale of homes has four consecutive months of positive rates after the increases of 32.4% and 65.9% registered in March and April, respectively, and 107.6% in May.

The most striking data is that of closed operations. And it is that in June 2021, 48,201 operations were closed, the best figure so far this year and the highest figure in the last 23 months. And it is that in July 2019, 48,337 operations were closed. “We are approaching 50,000 monthly operations and these are data that are reminiscent of the years of the real estate boom in 2008 “, adds the Director of the Study.

Francisco Iñareta, spokesperson for idealista, expresses himself in similar lines: “For another month the data officializes the recovery of the sale and purchase market and its return to pre-pandemic reality. In fact, the more than 48,000 homes sold in June represent a ceiling monthly only exceeded 4 times since 2008 “.

This expert believes that without a doubt, this volume of operations is directly related to the optimism generated by the success of the vaccination processes, the imminent European aid, the low interest rates and the increase in household savings in the last year.

The year-on-year rise in home sales in June was the consequence of the strong upturn in new home transactions, which increased by 71%, to 9,363 transactions, as well as the 74.1% increase in the sale of used flats , until adding 38,838 transactions.

In June, the total number of transmitted farms registered in the property registers per 100,000 inhabitants reached its highest values in Castilla y León (861), La Rioja (808) and Castilla La Mancha (723).
